Winter Gear Drive with ResourceWest

I've partnered with ResourceWest, a non-profit community agency that serves low-income families and individuals living in the west metro area of the Twin Cities who are struggling to make ends meet each day. Right now I'm focused on a winter gear drive as it is what they are most in need of.

There was a time when I was a single mother who knew what it was like to not be able to provide a winter coat for her child. It's not a good feeling, but this is a reality for many local families. This is a reality we can help to change.

There are children who will be freezing at the bus stop this winter, and not because they are too cool to wear a winter coat, but because they don't have one. There are children who won't be allowed to go outside for recess because they don't own winter gear.

ResourceWest struggles to fill the need for winter gear. Here is what they need now:

ITEMS NEEDED NOW

Waterproof winter gloves, new or gently used all sizes
Snow pants, new or gently used all sizes
Winter Coats, new or gently used children's sizes 8-16
Winter boots, new or gently used all sizes

Please keep in mind that if gently used they need to be clean and something a child or teen would wear. They need only the above at the moment.

You can drop these items off all winter long at the following participating businesses around the Twin Cities:

J. Novachis Menswear - 218 Water St. Excelsior
Ooh La La 274 Water St. Excelsior
Excelsior Real Estate 386 Oak St. Excelsior
Amore & Fede 226 Water St. Excelsior
Joey Nova’s Tonka Bay 5655 Manitou Rd Tonka Bay
The Vintage Loft 3440 Shoreline Drive Wayzata
Camp Smile Pediatric Dentistry 675 Water St Excelsior
